Moving in Collaboration
LUAIL – Ireland’s National Dance Company, July 2025
Dia dhuit! I’m currently in Limerick, Ireland, doing a two-week collaborative intensive with 4 fellow choreographers, 4 composers, and 20 dancers from the Luail Ensemble, Step Up Dance Project, Maiden Voyage Dance, and University of Limerick’s MA in Contemporary Dance programme. It’s my first time in Ireland and so far it’s been amazing (even the weather!).
The project is being hosted by the University of Limerick – and their campus is so impressive (check out that bridge below!) — great for a morning run and evening walk to recharge before and after the working day. Working days are ultra creative (and with-it, pretty tiring), but each day brings a new discovery. Each morning, we’re paired up with a new composer, new dancers and with new tasks – focussing on how movement and sound composition work together. Fun, frantic, and inspiring.
With love from Ireland,
Phoebe
